About us

A school built around who a child already is

Our story, our mission and vision, what's next for the school, the people who look after your child every day, and exactly how we keep them safe.

Our story

Founded to give Ugandan families a place they could trust

Guardian Kindergarten & Day Care Center opened its gates in Matugga, Lwadda Cell, to give working families a nursery and day care they could rely on every weekday of the year — not just during term time.

  • Sister school to Little One Junior School, Nabbingo — same small classes, play-based learning, and knowing every child by name.
  • Four sections today: Day Care under 3, then Baby, Middle and Top Class.
  • Open every weekday of the year, not just during term time.

At Guardian School, we are committed to giving every child a strong foundation for lifelong learning. We nurture curiosity, confidence, creativity and independence while helping children develop socially, emotionally, physically and academically.

Through engaging learning experiences, play, sports, creative activities and meaningful relationships, we encourage every child to discover their strengths and develop their unique potential.

As children progress through our Day Care, Baby Class, Middle Class and Top Class programmes, they gain the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to take their next steps with enthusiasm and purpose.

A note from our leadership

Guardian School is committed to continuous growth and development. As our school community grows, we look forward to expanding our facilities, enhancing our learning environment and creating even more opportunities for our children.

Our vision is to build on the strong foundation we have created while thoughtfully developing the school to meet the changing needs of our pupils and families. Through ongoing investment in our campus, programmes and people, we remain focused on providing a safe, stimulating and enriching environment where every child can thrive.

Growing with our children. Building for their future.

Our philosophy

Four entitlements guide every decision we make, from the daily routine to how we hire.

Children

Entitled to a safe, nurturing environment with routines that meet each child's individual needs, and to be treated with respect as valuable individuals.

Parents

Entitled to individual respect, support, and quality care for their child, from a school that treats every family's approach with understanding.

Staff

Entitled to an environment that recognises their training, skills and commitment, and supports them to do their best work.

The Centre

Enhances the lives of children and parents through caring, supportive service, every day the school is open.

Our goals

Quality care for every child

A child-centred setting

Support for parents

Our people

Directors, management, our head teacher and every class teacher are trained, safeguarding-checked, and chosen for patience with young children. Individual staff photos and profiles are being added here as the school builds out this page — for now, here is how the team is structured.

Emergency preparedness

Staff are trained in our emergency plan, and first-aid provision is on site and checked regularly. If you have a specific safeguarding question before you visit, call or WhatsApp us — we would rather answer it now than have you wonder.
